Painted Rock Petroglyph Site, AZ
The Hohokam people lived and farmed in the area from AD 350 to AD 1400. Although considered a Hohokam rock art site, Painted Rock, with over 800 petroglyphs, is on the extreme western edge of the Hohokam cultural area. Painted Rock also bears Spanish Missionary inscriptions, livestock brands, and historic graffiti.
